LIFEGUARD CAMP

LIFEGUARD CAMP DESCRIPTION
This NEW week of camp at Lamoka Baptist Camp is designed to train and equip individuals with the necessary skills for ensuring safety at pools, lakes, and other aquatic environments. Participants will learn water safety, CPR, first aid, and basic life-saving techniques in both shallow and deep water. The camp will also cover important preventative measures such as water chemistry, rescue equipment, and emergency action planning. Additionally, participants will receive instructions on how to handle common injuries and illnesses that may occur in a beach or pool setting. Our experienced instructors provide hands-on training and real-world scenarios to prepare participants for any situation that may arise while working as a lifeguard. Participants who pass the course will leave with a Red Cross Lifeguard and Waterfront Certification, as well as CPR and First Aid for lifeguards. Participants will also enjoy many activities that Lamoka is famous for (e.g., swimming, boating, free time, group games, chapels, etc.).

*Participants must be able to swim and have general proficiency in the water (please reach out for more information or for more details concerning this standard). Only participants who can pass the necessary skills at the level required by the Red Cross will receive the lifeguard certification.

Our Lifeguard Camp Schedule includes 2 chapels a day, evening cabin devotions, 3 meals a day (a salad bar is available at both lunch and dinner), group activity times, swimming time, free time, etc. Though much of the day will be spent working on lifeguard skills and testing those skills for certification, participants will be able to take part in many of the activities Camp Lamoka is famous for.

Our staff is well-trained and one of our priorities is your camper’s safety. We have at least one Registered Nurse (RN), one First Responder, and multiple CPR-certified persons on staff and on campus at all times. We are certified by the New York Health Department and the Department of Labor. Click here: https://lamoka.com/faq/ to see answers to frequently asked questions.
